Anyone else find resin bound gravel eco-friendly claims interesting?
I'm seeing a lot of marketing around resin bound gravel being "eco-friendly," but I'm a bit skeptical. It seems like anything that uses a lot of plastic-based resin can't really be that great for the environment, despite claims about permeability. I'm definitely in favour of making environmentally conscious choices where possible, but it is hard to separate fact from clever marketing. I was hoping for something sustainable for my garden project, but I'm now unsure. Has anyone else looked into this more closely? Am I missing something here?

That’s a valid question, and it’s good to be critical of what you read. I think the eco-friendly argument relies mostly on the permeability of the surface, which helps reduce water runoff. That said, you are correct, resin is still a factor and you can't be sure how green the manufacturing process is. I suppose any alternative paving option has issues of some kind, so it might be a case of picking the lesser of all evils. I spotted some Diy Kits being advertised, perhaps they provide more detailed information. However, I think you will still need to do your own research.
