Tandem Jump

The Team

The team members are all very experienced parachutists. Display jumping is only part of their interest in Skydiving. They have all made hundreds of descents over a period of many years and have travelled the world seeking skydiving adventures with people of many nationalities. The team spends many hours planning and preparing for shows and events. The displays are great crowd-pulling attractions.

The Display

Gliding!

The display begins with the aircraft flying over the arena at 2,000 feet so that the jump master can drop a wind-drift indicator to determine the wind direction and strength. The aircraft will then climb to a drop altitude which has been decided by the weather conditions and air traffic control.

At the Drop Altitude the team will exit the aircraft either individually or in a formation, again depending on the altitude. Their canopies will be opened at 2,000 feet and the team will descend into the arena to land with pin point accuracy.

Landing in the Arena

Once on the ground, they are able to meet any VIPs or make special presentations. They will then move off to an allocated area and give a parachute packing display for the public. There they can pose for any photographs, children often like to join in with this!

If required the jumpers can carry smoke cannisters, fly sponsor's flags into the arena and even jump in fancy dress for the special occasion.

Tandem Jump Legend: With his father, Icarus was imprisoned in the King's Tower. They escaped using wings they made from bird feathers stuck on with wax. Icarus ignored his father's warning and flew too close to the Sun. The wax melted and his wings came unstuck.

Fact: 3,000 years later, we do it with grace and safety.
